Education/Experience Requirements: NY/PA State Licensed RRT with home care/home medical equipment (HME) experience. In lieu of HME experience, experience with sleep disorders, pulmonary rehab, and care management for patients with respiratory disorders is preferred
Job Responsibilities:
In this position you will be responsible for providing patient services and support at within the location as well as within patient homes
- Provide Respiratory Care Services in the home and office environment to include, but not limited to:
- Respiratory Therapy and Assessment per physician orders
- Client Environmental Assessment
- Respiratory Care Management and Disease Education
- Therapy assessment and education
- Medication review
- Care Transitions Services and Health Coaching
- Provide patient setup and education of Respiratory Equipment/Products and other home healthcare equipment. Respiratory Products include (but are not limited to):
- PAP devices (CPAP and Bilevel)
- NIPPV
- Cough Assist Devices
- Chest Percussive Devices (Afflovest)
- Oxygen
- Suction Units
- NIV, CIV
- Oximetry
- Maintains documentation of all services provided and all work performed per Geroulds policies and procedures.
- Participate in outreach programs for patients and the communities per Geroulds policies and procedures
- Represents Gerould’s Respiratory and HME services and markets these services to potential referral sources and potential customers as follows:
- Direct marketing
- Face to face education with referral sources such as Sleep labs, Primary Care physicians, specialty medical services, etc once marketing plan is established
- Performs customer outreach programs and communicates with current and potential customers via healthfairs, community events, etc
- Direct marketing
- Supports orientation and training of other personnel regarding Respiratory services and products at the direction of management
Other Duties:
- Assist management in the development of policies, procedures, and protocols as they relate to Respiratory Services
- Assist management in the continued development of specialty programs and services such as, but not limited to the following:
- Disease Management Programs, Partnerships
- Pulmonary Rehab and Medical Fitness Programs
- Respiratory Wellness Programs
Job Requirements :
- Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the NBRC
- Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of New York
- May be required to obtain license in neighboring states as required by service area of location
- Current driver’s license in state in which you reside
- Employment is contingent upon a drug screening test and criminal background check.
- Must obtain and stay current with continuing education credits (CEUs) per licensure requirements. NY state requires 30 CEU hours within the 3 year licensure period. 15 of these must be "live".
Preferred Qualifications:
- Home respiratory care experience is preferred,
- Experience in Sleep Treatment, Pulmonary Rehab, Discharge Management preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Close Customer interaction in person at store location or in customer homes
- Must be able to be a team member with other employees and work independently
- Must be able to collaborate in multidisciplinary care planning
- 80% of time interacting with patients; 20% of time marketing/documenting ;
- Must be able to spend time sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 40#
- Must be able to utilize computer, phone, fax and other office equipment
